Serial Digital Fibre Optic Modem

The ViaLite serial digital fibre optic modem provides highly reliable, full duplex transmission of RS422, RS485, RS232 and TTL signals over two single mode optical fibres for distances of up to 20km.

The modem is suitable for use with the digital signaling of unbalanced ones and zeros and any duty cycle ratios.  Data rate options are DC-115kbps, DC-500kbps and DC-10Mbps.

The serial digital modem is available in either rack mounted or OEM module format.

Ethernet Fibre Optic Link

The ViaLite Ethernet fibre optic link provides highly reliable, full duplex transmission of Ethernet signals over two single mode optical fibres for distances of up to 20km.  The transceiver module has an auto switching function that can accept 10Mb/s, 100Mb/s or 1Gb/s Ethernet data without need for reconfiguration of the module.  Available in the ViaLite rack mount package the Ethernet module can be housed in any of the standard racks (3U or 1U) or a standalone package.  For users only requiring 100Mb/s a fixed media converter is also available.

The ViaLite Ethernet fibre optic link is used in a wide variety of applications.  For example, it can be used to carry control and monitoring information from remote locations back to central control stations when only single mode fibre is available between the positions.
