UHF/VHF (10-1000MHz) Fibre Optic Link

Allowing flexible broadcast systems and installations the ViaLite Classic and ViaLiteHD UHF/VHF fibre optic links provide a high performance, high reliability, transparent cross-site connection between RF communications equipment.  It is ideal for VHF/UHF radio & TV signal distribution amongst other applications.

The ultra-wide dynamic range results in negligible degradation of signals due to noise or inter-modulation effects.  The link’s operation is independent of data format, and together with its inherently low phase noise performance, it is suitable for almost any type of analogue or digital signal modulation including FM and QPSK.  High link reliability, comprehensive alarm/status monitoring and wide dynamic range result in a highly flexible product suitable for a wide range of applications:

  • Radio transmission
  • TV transmission
  • Outside broadcast
  • DVB-T and DVB-H
  • Radio cameras

Radio-over-fibre in Metro, Mining and Tunnels

Operators and service providers configure ViaLite UHF fibre optic links into their radio networks to provide full duplex signal transmission paths between the radio tower and remote receiver located under ground, many kilometres away.  UHF fibre extender enables leaky feeder or repeater to be installed deeper into mines, tunnels or metro environment.

Cellular and PMR (for example TETRA) and security and public safety communications infrastructural deployments used to support the emergency services such as the Fire, Police and Ambulance are just some of the many other applications where ViaLite UHF / VHF fibre optic communications equipment are used to save lives.

Outdoor Live Broadcasting

ViaLite optical fibre link products are fast becoming the ‘de-facto’ transport platform used throughout the world by broadcasters and program producers to gather ‘breaking-news’ stories and cover live sports event.  Outdoor broadcast (OB) teams now integrated a fibre back-haul link into SNG and ENG platforms because it is light weight, making it easier to rig and de-rig field-base equipment quickly.  The OB community quickly realised and subsequently exploited the fact that single-mode optical fibre has the capacity to simultaneously relay multiple HD video, voice (intercom) and data channels over longer distances; hybrid SMPTE cable is used when power is required at the remote receiver.
