2006 - PPM Launch the DVB-T Fiber Optic Link

PPM's ViaLite broadband, wide dynamic range 470-860MHz fibre optic link, provides a high performance, high reliability, transparent cross-site connection between broadcast communications equipment.

It is specifically designed for UHF analogue or COFDM digital TV signal transportation. The ultra-wide dynamic range results in negligible degradation of signals due to noise or inter-modulation effects.

High reliability, comprehensive alarm and status monitoring, and wide dynamic range result in a highly flexible product, suitable for a wide range of installations. The DVB fibre optic link system simply inserts between antenna or down-converter and the electrical receiver and can be offered with or without an electrical insert to provide power to the remote end. The transmitter can be used to power the antenna/down-converter through the RF input.

The DVB-T link is now being used in Outside Broadcast applications where dual or quad diversity is being used and each RF channel is transported over distances up to 15km on fibre to the Outdoor Broadcast control truck.
