30th March 2010 - Shipments of ViaLiteHD commence

30th March 2010 - Volume shipments of ViaLiteHD commence.  ViaLite have commenced shipping production volumes of the new ViaLiteHD platform meeting the Q12010 target announced at IBC2009.  This month a major UK government customer took delivery of several hundred modules for a new installation.  Several other new and existing customers are planning ViaLiteHD deliveries over the next few months.

ViaLiteHD is a completely new RF-over-Fibre (RFoF) product range providing innovative solutions to problems encountered with the transport, monitoring and control of RF signals across a range of sites and installations.

The new major innovations that ViaLiteHD introduces are:-

• High density RF channel count, up to 13 RF fibre converter cards per chassis.
• New DUAL transmitter or receiver technology allows up to 26 RF channels per chassis.
• Blind mating hot swappable cards, allowing users to upgrade systems or change configuration without breaking optical or electrical connections, which has been seen as a major user request.
• Local and remote (via SNMP) monitoring and programming of key RF characteristics such as link gain and signal powers.
• Outdoor equipment, for up to 80 RF channels, making direct to antenna installations simple and easy to accommodate.
