PPM Adds SNMP Network Monitoring Module to ViaLite Range

2nd September 2008 - PPM announce the introduction of a new SNMP module that allows users to remotely monitor up to two fully populated racks of ViaLite equipment over their existing M&C networks.  This increases the ease of use of ViaLite systems and reduces the need for physical intervention by engineering staff in remote equipment locations.

The new ViaLite SNMP Network Monitor Module enables the user to view full status of their ViaLite system from any networked terminal.  This SNMP module can be retrofitted into existing ViaLite systems and has the capability to monitor all modules in a second rack where required, making it a cost effective solution. Connecting to a LAN via the front panel mounted Ethernet port makes all alarm information assessable via any MIB browser of SNMP compliant management systems. The graphical user interface provides a representation of all ViaLite modules connected giving operational status of the fibre links and power supplies.
