Racks and Enclosures

ViaLite is an analogue and data fibre optic transmission platform for all types of installation. The sub-rack chassis designs deliver high levels of reliability through backplane connectivity and front-entry plug-in module installation. All ViaLite modules are hot swappable, avoiding the need to power-down the rack prior to swapping-out defective modules.

3U Rack Chassis

A Vialite Classic LRK2S 3U sub-rack accommodates up to 8 plug-in RF/data modules and 2 plug-in power supplies.  A Vialite HD 3U sub rack can hold up to 13 RF dual channel cards (total up to 26 channels) plus an SNMP card and two power supplies.  Hot swappable dual power supply capability provides full redundancy and maximum reliability to avoid traffic loss and service down-time in the event of a power failure.

1U Rack Unit

For compact, discrete installations the 75004 1U 19” sub-rack option is also available. This accommodates up to three modules and has a single integrated power supply.  For single modules installations the converter sleeve 75003 converts the standard plug-in module into a standalone unit, ideal for service distribution to a number of remote sites.

Outdoor Enclosures

The ViaLite suite of outdoor enclosures provides a cost-effective housing solution for use in environmentally harsh conditions.  These units are freestanding or can be wall or pole mounted and have a range of connectivity options.  Power supply feed and fibre optic cable connections can be permanent for fixed installations or connectorised for rapid field deployment.  To maximise reliability in critical systems, dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies can be fitted.

All the ViaLite ODE's are compatible with either ViaLiteHD or ViaLite Classic ranges.

Small and Medium Sized Enclosures for Rack Cards & OEM modules

The 3-channel ODE-A is a very compact enclosure installed on roof-tops or at antenna hubs, where dual or redundant off-air native RF and serial digital services are transmitted over optical fibre from the receiving antenna to the remote equipment room.

The 8-channel ODE-B was designed to allow ViaLite fibre optic modules and customer specified peripheral equipment to be integrated within the enclosure, which can then be mounted on or near the antenna.

Larger Enclosures for Rack Cards

The ODE-C is a 12U outdoor enclosure that can hold 4 racks of equipment.  When used with ViaLiteHD this means 52 line cards can be accommodated or 104 channels when using the dual channel card.

The ODE-D and ODE-D+ (air-conditioned model) are free standing outdoor enclosures with 25U of rack space.  These can accomodate up to 214 ViaLiteHD channels however are typically used to house both ViaLite  and customer equipment in an outdoor enclosure which is sufficiently large to avoid the need for a bespoke outdoor building to be constructed.
