Test, Measurement, EMC & EMP

Electro Magnetically shielded fiber optic links to meet the most demanding test environments.

The point2point and Sentinel EMC screened RF-over-Fiber technology offers unbeatable advantages for the transmission of analog, RF and digital data signals over optical fiber.  The complete test and measurement product range offered includes RF-over-Fiber links, sensors, power supplies and system solutions for EMC, TEMPEST, High Voltage and Laboratory applications.  Sentinel and point2point products are optimised for specific test and measurement applications including:

  • aerospace standards testing
  • EMC / EMP / NEMP / HPM / HIRF
  • high energy physics
  • defense and military standards testing
  • HV switch gear testing
  • electromagnetic launch
  • automotive standards testing.

The point2point and Sentinel Fiber Optic Link ranges provide a means of conveying RF signals in the presence of intense electrical fields.  These products, in conjunction with our RF sensors and probes serve the needs of the EMC, EMP, lightning test and TEMPEST communities.  point2point is the ideal solution for a wide variety of data acquisition applications.  It also meets the security requirements for critical TEMPEST applications.  The system offers a data link which is as easy to use as an electrical cable, but with the inherent advantages of optical fiber (i.e. low loss; immunity to interference; non-conductivity; low mass and small size).  point2point products offer bandwidths from high accuracy DC to more than 3GHz.  The Sentinel II intelligent fiber optic link product range allows the user to remotely select inputs, link gain, pre-amplifier, calibrate signal etc.  It offers additional shielding for higher field operation.  Bandwidths of up to 1GHz are available.

For high voltage measurement applications point2point DC analogue fiber optic link provides a high performance analogue instrumentation system that produces great benefits for users who require a solution to electrical interference and noise problems in signal monitoring and distribution over distance.  The electrical input/output interface to the system is analogue, which means that the link is transparent to almost any data format or signal type.  The point2point DC transmitter converts the analogue input signal into an optical digital signal for transmission over the optical fiber.  At the receiver, the signal is converted back into an electrical signal.  This high speed analogue-to-digital conversion technique has many advantages over conventional analogue solutions as it produces very high levels of accuracy and stability.
