Ka-Band Diversity System Generates Interest
IBC, which is arguably the most important event to attend in the Broadcast industry, excelled expectations this year with a record attendance of over 55,000 attendees from 170 countries and its first standing ovation for an award winner.
ViaLite Communications also reported a record number of leads from the show with the company’s Ka-Band diversity system generating vast amounts of interest on the stand, from both Broadcast and Satcom visitors. The long distance RF over fiber system connects two locations up to 100km apart. This distance provides the user with a rain fade solution by allowing them to choose the signal from the antenna dish in the best weather conditions, without any disruption or signal downtime when the signal is switched. The displayed system also featured ViaLite‘s SNMP Monitor and Control software. A total distance of over 100km is possible when amplification and dispersion compensation is added.
Gary Wade, ViaLite Product Manager, said: “It was our busiest IBC yet. There was a great deal of interest in both our broadcast wireless camera links and traditional inter-facility links, as well as our Long Distance Link system.”
