ViaLiteHD Hardware Formats

ViaLite offers a number of hardware formats to suit different needs:

• Rack Chassis Cards – for use in the 1U or 3U Rack Chassis
• Blue OEM – standalone module
• Yellow OEM – module for system integration
• Green OEM – module for Broadcast links
• Blue2 Link – a dual-solution OEM
• Purple OEM – module for the C-Band Link
• Black OEM – module covering 10 MHz – 6 GHz

All ViaLite links of the same product type (L-Band HTS, DVB-T, GPS etc.) can be mixed irrespective of the format (chassis card or OEM module) or product range (ViaLiteHD or Classic).

Rack Chassis Card

Chassis cards are used in ViaLiteHD rack chassis units (3U / 1U).

• Card size: 179mm x 25.4mm x 133mm

A 3U ViaLiteHD rack chassis is equipped with two 100 W dual redundant power supplies and either a summary alarm card or an SNMP network control module. The chassis accepts up to 13 cards and, if dual cards are used, can support up to 26 links.

• 13 chassis cards per 3U rack chassis
• Single Rx or Tx cards
• Dual cards (Rx/Rx, Rx/Tx and Tx/Tx) allows 26 links per chassis
• SNMP monitor and control
• Blind mate
• 1310, 1550, CWDM & DWDM options
• Hot swappable
• On-card WDM multiplexing allows two signals on a single fiber
• On-card LNA/LNB power feed options.

Blue OEM

• Ideal for simple links
• Can be used as a standalone, compact link solution
• Or, can be integrated into an existing system
• Small form factor: 69mm x 43mm x 21.5mm
• 1310, 1550, CWDM options
• Available with a variety of connector options, depending on the link
• Removable backplate allows for both front and back mounting
• Dedicated power supply (HPS-CS3) enables the module to operate as a standalone link.

The Blue module was previously known as the ViaLite M-link module.

ViaLite supplies an optional DIN Rail Mounting Kit (complete with bracket, thermal pad and fixings) for vertically storing Blue OEM modules. View picture. The kit can be used in existing enclosures/housings and for wall-mounting where a DIN Rail is present (contact us for more details).

Yellow OEM

The Yellow module (previously known as the ‘Edge’ or Silver module) allows system integrators and equipment manufacturers to build RF/optical interfaces into their own designs. The module has been carefully designed to allow easy integration onto motherboards.

• Very small form factor: 65 x 40 x 12.1mm (15.6mm height for transmitters)
• Edge connector for DC and alarm connections
• 1310, 1550, CWDM & DWDM options
• Designed for easy integration into customer equipment
• Fits easily into existing mechanical housings
• Available with a variety of connector options, depending on the link
• Fitted with a flying optical lead

Green OEM (broadcast)

The Green module is for broadcast links and was previously called the Broadcast OEM.

• Form-fit and function replacement for ViaLite’s DVB-T and UHF/VHF Classic OEM links
• Lowest power option
• Low power usage makes the module ideal for wireless cameras and mics where battery life can be restricted.

Blue2 Link

The Blue2 Link is a dual-solution OEM which can be setup as 2x transmitters, 2x receivers or a transceiver, as required.

Purple OEM

The purple OEM module can be used for DWDM.

Black OEM

The Black OEM module covers a wide frequency range from 10 MHz to 6 GHz, has been designed with harsh environmental conditions in mind and is IP55 rated for outdoor use. It can be used in a wide variety of applications: Mil-Aero (see Mil-Aero 6 GHz Link Pair), Broadcast, Satcom, GPS/Timing (see 6 GHz Link).

• Metal casing
• Single Tx or Rx available
• External PSU (also IP rated)
• USB-C – Software programable gain settings
• Integrated mounting holes
• 138 mm x 60.5 mm x 31 mm
• Suitable for outdoor use without an enclosure
