Horizons Monitoring & Control HRC-3 Module Options
ViaLite’s Horizons Monitoring and Control (M&C) HRC-3 module has a lot of new features including:
- Not Java dependent
- The HRC-3 is a direct plugin replacement for the legacy HRC-1 and fits into 1U and 3U Rack Chassis units
- Faster I²C polling cycle
- Modern, easier to use, intuitive and faster graphical user interface (GUI)
- New maintenance mode allowing modifications to be carried out offline.
There are a number of orderable HRC-3 module configurations available depending on customer requirements:
1) Legacy compatible (1 front RJ45, 1 rear RJ45, 1 duplex fiber connection)
Providing 10/100/GbE auto-negotiating network connection via RJ45, but also working at 100 MB fiber interface as per the legacy M&C module (HRC-1), allowing the two cards to communicate. The PN for this version is HRC-3-CD-xx-2W-S1310. The following features and configurations are optional with this module:
- Formatted for a Rack Chassis
- Fiber interfaces SC/APC, FC/APC, E2000/APC, LC/PC
- Support for dual optical Ethernet configurations allowing daisy chaining or star network configurations (new feature)
2) Cross-site GbE fiber (1 front RJ45, 1 rear RJ45, 1 duplex fiber connection)
This module provides a GbE fiber interface for faster cross-site communications and also provides a 10/100/GbE auto-negotiation network connection via RJ45. The PN for this version is HRC-3-FD-xx-2W-S1310. The following features and configurations are optional with this module:
- Formatted for a Rack Chassis
- Fiber interfaces SC/APC, FC/APC, E2000/APC, LC/PC
- Support for dual optical Ethernet configurations allowing daisy chaining or star network configurations (new feature)
- Various laser options. Standard 1310 nm, for longer distance 1550 nm, as well as ITU CWDM for single fiber applications and DWDM for very long distances.
3) Cross-site GbE fiber (2 rear RJ45, 1 duplex fiber connection)
This module is as above (no. 2) but with two rear RJ45s (no front connection) an 1 GbE fiber. The PN is HRC-3-EE-xx-2W-S1310.
4) Local only (1 front RJ45, 2 rear RJ45)
For customers who have Ethernet connectivity at local and remote locations (not requiring fiber), this module has three ports (1 front, 2 rear) and provides a 10/100/GbE auto-negotiation network connection via RJ45. The PN is HRC-3-FE-0x-00.
- Formatted for a Rack Chassis
- Various laser options. Standard 1310 nm, for longer distance 1550 nm, as well as ITU CWDM for single fiber applications and DWDM for very long distances.
5) Daisy-chain or star network (1 rear RJ45, 2 duplex fiber connections)
This module provides a 10/100/GbE auto-negotiation network connection via RJ45 and has two GbE fiber interfaces for faster cross-site communications, allowing the indoor location to talk to two outdoor locations. Or, the module can be used for daisy-chaining of an infinite number of outdoor locations from the original indoor one. The module has a LC/APC or LC/PC connection. The PN is HRC-3-ED-9x-FW-xxxx-xxxx. The following features and configurations are optional with this module:
- Formatted for a Rack Chassis
- Various laser options. Standard 1310 nm, for longer distance 1550 nm, as well as ITU CWDM for single fiber applications and DWDM for very long distances.
6) Daisy-chain or star network (1 front RJ45, 2 duplex fiber connections)
This module is as above (no. 5) but with the RJ45 port at the front. The PN is HRC-3-FC-9x-FW-xxxx-xxxx.
7) Daisy-chain or star network (1 front RJ45, 2 duplex fiber connections), legacy compatible
This module provides a 10/100/GbE auto-negotiation network connection via a front RJ45 port and has two GbE fiber interfaces for faster cross-site communications, allowing the indoor location to talk to two outdoor locations. Or, the module can be used for daisy-chaining of an infinite number of outdoor locations from the original indoor one. The module works at a 100 MB fiber interface as per the legacy M&C module (HRC-1), allowing the two cards to communicate. It has a LC/APC or LC/PC connection. The PN is HRC-3-CC-xx-FW-xxxx-xxxx. The following features and configurations are optional with this module:
- Formatted for a Rack Chassis
