Presidents Cup uses RF over Fiber Links for Wireless Cameras
Leading television production company NEP Australia used ViaLite RF over fiber links to support live coverage of the PGA TOUR Presidents Cup (8-11 October) at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Course, South Korea. The links were used to transfer the drama-filled footage from the roaming wireless cameras back to the production control room.
“We had a very successful broadcast of the Presidents Cup Golf from Korea. I am pleased to report that the PPM ViaLite modules performed flawlessly and met every expectation,” said Buddhi Fonseka, Senior Link Technician at NEP Australia.
The broadcast industry is increasingly adopting RF over fiber instead of traditional copper cabling. ViaLite links can cover the distances needed for large areas such as golf courses, racetracks and sports stadia. RF over fiber is lighter and faster to deploy than copper coax and can be easily integrated with existing networks.
